The Alberni District Teachers’ Union (ADTU) is built on a democratic structure that ensures transparency, accountability, and a strong member voice. Our leadership framework includes the Executive, the Representative Assembly (RA), and Worksite Representatives, supported by committees that focus on key areas such as bargaining, professional development, social justice, and health and safety.
Together, these bodies represent members, uphold the collective agreement, and advance the welfare of teachers, TTOCs, and Associated Professionals while strengthening public education.
- Executive – Elected officers who carry out the general business of the union and provide leadership between meetings.
- Representative Assembly (RA) – A decision-making body made up of the Executive and Worksite Representatives that meets regularly to discuss, debate, and vote on union matters.
- Worksite Representatives (Staff Reps) – Elected colleagues at each school or site who act as the link between members and the ADTU.
